The Chancellor’s Recognition Ceremony for December Degree Candidates

Candidates and guests are invited to a reception immediately following the hour-long ceremony.
Please remember that tickets are not required for the December Recognition Ceremony. Invitations will be emailed to all December degree candidates and RSVPs are requested. Family and guests are welcome.
Olin Business School will host a recognition ceremony for candidates receiving business degrees at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 2 in Graham Chapel. December degree candidates in business and their guests are invited to participate in both ceremonies. More details.
Directions for the Candidates
By 9:30 a.m., all candidates must be in the Athletic Complex to pick up their name card and line up at the assembly point
The grand marshal will announce the names of each candidate as they walk across the stage to shake hands with Chancellor Wrighton.
- Regalia may be worn by degree candidates at this ceremony.
Regalia and Graduation Announcements
Regalia should be ordered by November 15. Candidates can pickup regalia at the Danforth Campus Bookstore starting the Monday before the ceremony. (Note, regalia for the May ceremony will be available at a discounted price for those candidates attending both December and May ceremonies.)
- Graduate students: Wear your tassel on your left side while wearing your cap. Hoods should be worn into the ceremony. Check out How to Wear an Academic Hood.
Undergraduate students: Your tassel should be worn on the right side while wearing your cap.
