December Degree Candidate Recognition Ceremony

Please remember that tickets are not required for the December Recognition Ceremony. Invitations will be emailed to all December degree candidates and RSVPs are requested. Family and guests are welcome.
Olin Business School will host a recognition ceremony for candidates receiving business degrees at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 2 in Graham Chapel. December degree candidates in business and their guests are invited to participate in both ceremonies. More details.
9:00 a.m. – Doors open
9:30 a.m. – Degree candidates check-in and assemble
10:00 a.m. – Procession begins (Varsity Gym)
11:00 a.m. – Reception (Lobby)
Directions for the Candidates
By 9:30 a.m., all candidates must be in the Athletic Complex to pick up their name card and line up at the assembly point
The grand marshal will announce the names of each candidate as they walk across the stage to shake hands with Chancellor Wrighton.
- Regalia may be worn by degree candidates at this ceremony.
Regalia and Graduation Announcements
Regalia should be ordered by November 15. Candidates can pickup regalia at the Danforth Campus Bookstore starting the Monday before the ceremony. (Note, regalia for the May ceremony will be available at a discounted price for those candidates attending both December and May ceremonies.) The deadline to order regalia was November 15. Please email Rick Parker if you need to place an order.
- Graduate students: Wear your tassel on your left side while wearing your cap. Hoods should be worn into the ceremony. Check out How to Wear an Academic Hood.
Undergraduate students: Your tassel should be worn on the right side while wearing your cap.
In addition, candidates and their families can also order graduation announcements at the bookstore.
The ceremony will be streamed on the Commencement homepage.
Parking is available in the Danforth University Center underground parking garage and Snow Way parking garage. A drop off zone will be available on the surface lot east of the Athletic Complex. This lot will also be reserved for those needing accessible parking. See Google Map.
Sign Language and Accessibility
An American Sign Language interpreter will be present during the Recognition Ceremony. For guests needing wheelchairs, a limited number are available by reservation before Nov. 28 by contacting Rosetta Saputo in Resource Management at 314-935-5669 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Place your order today for a graduation bouquet. Flowers will be available for pickup at the ceremony.

Returning for Commencement
All students graduating in December are invited to return to Commencement in May. Details will be provided with your diploma.
If you successfully complete all degree requirements, your degree will be officially conferred by the Chancellor and the Board of Trustees in January. Diplomas will be mailed at the end of January and may take several weeks to arrive.
